From game designer Eleazar Lawson, comes our newest game.
It is the dawn of the 22nd century, and humans have exploited a poorly understood phenomenon to propel their ships to a growing number of star systems. The Independent Survey Vessel Faraway plies the far reaches of human space, searching for the next big breakthrough. Conveniently, the ship’s course takes it far from the watchful eye of Federation regulatory agencies, making it an ideal place for the ethically flexible to test out new theories and technologies. In particular, the team aboard the Faraway hopes to learn more about the inter-dimensional space starships use to travel long distances. Many refer to it as hyperspace or warp space, but to those who have traveled there and returned, it has another name: the Void.
But the dark corners of the frontier are full of potential experimental subjects, and the scientists aboard the Faraway really aren’t picky about where they come from. The potential of creating a human mind endowed with the capacity of an infinite space orthogonal to our own universe is beyond any petty ethical considerations. The results of the work would redefine the evolution of the human race, and lead to power and wealth unheard of in human history. There’s just one small problem; the Void isn’t empty after all.
There’s something out there, and the Faraway just invited it in…

Presenting a board game that simulates tactical level warfare in Britain during the 5th and 6th centuries, the age of King Arthur. Called Battles for Prydain (Britain in Welsh), the game has eleven scenarios covering the military aspect of this period in a way never before attempted, dealing with the historical King Arthur and his times, not the King Arthur of the fantasy romances. If you love history and military strategy, you won't want to miss this exclusive game.
Battles for Prydain is designed for two players, but it is easily adaptable to solitaire play. In fact, playing wagames solitaire is a great way to study the history being gamed. And this game covers a subject that has not been well studied in books or games. There's a lot to learn here and a lot of fun in the learning.
Battles for Prydain is shipped in a ziploc bag, with an unmounted map on heavy stock and 296 laser-cut counters. It includes two booklets (rules in one, scenarios in the other), several cardstock playaids, and one ten-sided die. (See the illustrations below.)
For those who like reading as well as doing, Eleazar has included extensive historical notes. This is really a spectacular package.
The game is available for purchase at $50 per copy (CA residents add 8% sales tax). Free shipping in the U.S. (Foreign customers email us for shipping rates and instructions.) All internet orders are processed through Paypal.

'Wargame' is the generic name for game simulations that have as their purpose recreating historical events in an abstracted but still accurate way. The rules of a wargame are designed to put you, the player, in the place of the decision makers in the original situation. It's like having a book on the subject, only here you do it instead of just reading about it.
